Workshop on Biosignals 2020
From 11.03.2020 to 13.03.2020, the specialist committees "Biosignale" and "Magnetische Methoden in der Medizin" of the "Deutschen Gesellschaft für Biomedizinische Technik" in the VDE invited all interested parties and especially young scientists to participate in the workshop "Innovative Processing of Bioelectric and Magnetic Signals". The event followed a tradition of more than 20 years of successful cooperation between the specialist committees. An important part of these workshops was an in-depth poster presentation with short oral introductions, in which each submitted work was discussed constructively and critically. Submissions across the full range of biosignal analysis and biomagnetism as well as new related topics were accepted. Embedded in the program were tutorials that offered a didactically prepared introduction to four topics. Guided tours through the laboratories of the Faculty of Engineering were also offered.
The organizers, Andreas Bahr, Eric Elzenheimer, and Gerhard Schmidt, thank all involved researchers and administrative personal for making a very nice workshop possible.
In March 2026, the DSS Chair attended the annual DAGA conference in Dresden. Thanks to the support of the GaS-Club, the student Aylin Kösker was given the opportunity to accompany the chair and participate in the conference from March 23rd to March 26th. As part of the daily poster sessions, she presented the results of her bachelor’s thesis “Machine Learning for the Analysis of Hydrographic Data to Assess the Waterside Accessibility of Port Waters” in the field of Underwater Acoustics. The thesis forms an important basis for an ongoing university research project on the acoustic analysis of sediment properties in harbor areas. The poster session enabled valuable discussions with researchers and conference participants from related research fields.
